Hint and tips

The Good Wardrobe goes live!

Well, after nearly two years of developing The Good Wardrobe, months of design and web build, launch day has finally arrived. Back in the Autumn of 2010 it was just a seed of an idea which grew, gathered speed, slowed-up on occasion, then eventually snow-balled unstoppably into what you see here. I thought many times about whether this was something I could do on my own, but ultimately I realised it was something that I couldn’t not do.

Timothy Everest: how to wear a 'pocket square'

On a recent rainy evening, we took sanctuary at Morton's Club in Mayfair to enjoy an evening with tailor Timothy Everest. The audience was regaled with tales from Timothy's illustrious career and what struck us most was that, for a man who has since dressed so some of the world's most famous men, he is refreshingly down-to-earth. What we at The Good Wardrobe also love was his vision to create "investment pieces that stood out and were built to last."

Suffering for my shoes

It is one thing for me to choose fabulous shoes at the expense of my own comfort – blisters, bunions, bad back - I can’t ask for sympathy as it is totally self-inflicted. However, it’s quite another thing altogether for me to accept that someone half way across the world (and in some cases just a few miles across London) is suffering a far worse fate than sore feet, just so I can bag a bargain.
